Light and Love Nodes LLC ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") built Lighten Up ("the App") as a spiritual guidance application. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use the App. By downloading, installing, or using the App, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to this Privacy Policy.

Our Core Commitment

Your privacy is a foundational principle of how we built this App. Lighten Up was designed from the ground up to keep your conversations private. The AI guide runs entirely on your device. Your words never leave your phone.

Information You Provide

Profile Information: If you choose to create a profile, you may provide a name, greeting preferences, and guide customization settings. This information is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to us or any third party.

Conversations: All conversations with your guide are processed and stored entirely on your device. We do not have access to, collect, transmit, or store any conversation data. We have no ability to view, retrieve, recover, or reconstruct your conversations under any circumstances, including in response to legal requests, as we do not possess this data.

Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect your conversations or messages. We do not collect your location. We do not collect analytics or usage data. We do not use cookies or tracking technologies. We do not collect device identifiers for advertising purposes. We do not sell, share, rent, or transmit any personal data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising, marketing, or profiling purposes.

Subscription Information

If you purchase a subscription, payment processing is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your payment information, credit card numbers, or billing details. We may receive a confirmation from Apple that a valid subscription exists associated with your Apple ID, but we receive no financial data. How the AI Works

The AI spiritual guide operates using a language model that runs entirely on your device. Your messages are processed locally on your iPhone. No conversation data is sent to any server, cloud service, or external API. No internet connection is required for conversations with your guide. The AI model does not transmit, upload, or share any data with us, Apple, or any third party.

Data Storage

All data — including your profile, conversations, and preferences — is stored locally on your device using standard iOS storage mechanisms. This data is protected by your device's built-in security features, including device passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID.

Important: While we have designed the App to store data locally and securely, we cannot guarantee the absolute security of data stored on your device. The security of your data depends in part on the security of your device itself, including your device passcode, biometric settings, software updates, and physical security of the device. We are not responsible for unauthorized access to your device or data resulting from your device being lost, stolen, compromised, jailbroken, or accessed by third parties through any means.

Data Deletion

You can delete your data at any time through the following methods: swipe to delete individual conversations in the Messages screen; use "Reset All Data" in your profile settings to remove all profile and conversation data; or delete the App from your device, which removes all associated data. Once data is deleted, it cannot be recovered by us or anyone else, as we never had access to it.

Children's Privacy

Lighten Up is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has used the App, please note that all data is stored only on the child's device and is not accessible to us. You may delete the App from the device to remove all associated data. If you believe we have inadvertently received any information from a child under 13, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

Crisis Detection

The App includes a crisis detection feature that may display mental health resources, including the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline and Crisis Text Line, when certain keywords are detected in your messages. This detection is performed entirely on your device using a local keyword-matching system. No data about these detections — including whether a detection occurred, the content that triggered it, or any related information — is transmitted to us, Apple, or any third party. We do not monitor, record, or have any awareness of when or whether crisis resources are displayed to any user.

Third-Party Services

The only third-party service involved in the operation of the App is Apple's App Store for subscription management and distribution. We are not responsible for the data practices of Apple or any other third party. We encourage you to review Apple's Privacy Policy for information about how they handle data related to App Store transactions.

If you choose to contact us via email, your email communications will be processed by our email service provider (Google Workspace). Standard email is not encrypted end-to-end, and we cannot guarantee the security of information transmitted via email.

International Users

The App is operated from the United States. If you are accessing the App from outside the United States, please be aware that since all data is stored locally on your device and no data is transmitted to us, there is no cross-border transfer of your personal data through the App. However, if you contact us via email, your communication may be processed in the United States.

California Privacy Rights

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), California residents have specific rights regarding their personal information. Because we do not collect, store, or process any personal information from App users, there is no personal information for us to disclose, delete, or stop selling. We do not sell personal information. If you have questions about your rights under California law, please contact us.

European Users (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you may have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or equivalent legislation. Because we do not collect or process any personal data from App users, there is no personal data for us to provide access to, rectify, erase, or port. No data is transferred outside your device. If you have questions about your rights, please contact us.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy within the App and updating the "Last Updated" date above. Material changes will be indicated prominently. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any changes, you must stop using the App and delete it from your device.
